SUMMARY:American Legion Oratorical Contest
DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, January 20th we will be conducting our annual Post Oratorical Contest for local high school students.  Doors will open at noon and the contest will start at 1:00 p.m. and should be over by 3:30 p.m. The Post will be awarding prizes for the top three contestants.   \nThis is a great opportunity for high school students to learn about our nation’s constitution while having a chance to win money toward scholarships or other school needs.  The winner of our contest will go on to represent the Post at the District contest.  Nationally\, the winner of the American Legion’s oratorical contest could win almost $20\,000.00.  \nWe are inviting members of the Post and the Auxiliary to attend this event.  If you would like assist with support for this event\, to be a judge\, a timekeeper\, or assist with this program\, please contact George Hinkle or Thom Williams via email: 65ghinkle@gmail.com \, twilliams@adittech.com.   \nWe will have snacks and drinks available for the contestants and all attendees at the end of the activities.   \nThis is a great opportunity for our members to show our support for one of the American Legion’s most important programs.
