American Legion Post 233 Community Service Information

In coordination with several local law enforcement agencies, American Legion Post 233 is proud to provide a place for local folks to work off community service hours. We strive to provide a safe place for people to work those hours in a meaningful way and to respect our community service workers.

Bring your community service log sheet with you (we will make and retain a copy). We reserve the right to turn away or send away workers on any given day and we also reserve the right to permanently ban workers from the premises. These decisions are non-negotiable and cannot be appealed.

Once you are signed in for community service hours you must remain available to the staff and officer on duty to assist with tasks as assigned. If you have to leave the premises for any reason you must check in with the staff member who is running the shift or with the officer on duty.

Questions about community service can be answered by the officer on duty or official delegate. If you have questions please call the post at 770-446-4728.

LOCATION

We are located at 4635 Highway 78 in Loganville…right across from the McDonald’s Restaurant.

AVAILABLE COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS

  • Monday: 4:30 PM to 9:30 PM
  • Wednesday: 4:30 PM to 9:30 PM
  • Thursday: 4:30 PM to 9:30 PM
  • Sunday: 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Ending times may vary based on amount of work to be completed. We reserve the right to limit the number of workers accepted on any given day. You should plan accordingly to make sure you can get your hours completed to meet your requirement.

    ALCOHOL/DRUG POLICY

Community service workers may NOT purchase or consume alcoholic beverages while working community service hours. We also maintain a strict no tolerance policy for any illegal drug at the post. Failure to comply may result in a total ban from working community service hours at the post.

    DRESS CODE

You should come dressed to work inside or outside. No lewd or profane T-Shirts, no short-shorts, nothing that might be distressing to our customers.

COMPLETION LETTERS AND INTERIM SERVICE LOGS

Many agencies will require a periodic update on your progress and/or a letter from us at completion of your community service hours. We are happy to provide these logs and letters and although we will most often be able to provide them on the same day, please make sure you allow us at least 24 hours to create the letter from the time of your request. Plan ahead!
